ITINERARY
What You'll Experience
Hotel pickup in Istanbul and a 70-minute flight to İzmir. Your guide meets the group at arrivals; the drive to Ephesus takes about an hour. Enter through the Magnesia Gate and walk the marble street to the Library of Celsus, then the Great Theatre.
The two hillside terraces where Ephesus's wealthiest families lived, excavated and roofed since 2000. Lunch is at a local restaurant in Selçuk — paid separately, around €20 per person, with vegetarian options.
The chapel on Mount Koressos, accepted since the 19th century as the house where Mary lived her last years. Then the single remaining column of the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders. Overnight in Selçuk or Kuşadası.
Drive inland to Pamukkale, then the white calcium terraces that give the site its Turkish name, "cotton castle". Walk the marked boardwalks and the shallow pools — the travertines are protected and swimming outside designated areas is not permitted.
The Roman spa city above the springs: the 12,000-seat theatre, the Temple of Apollo over the fault line and the necropolis with more than 1,200 tombs. Lunch at a local restaurant, paid separately, then optional time in Cleopatra's Antique Pool.
Transfer to Denizli airport for the evening flight to Istanbul, then drop-off in central Istanbul. The exact time depends on the airline schedule for your dates.
Drop-off in central Istanbul: 21:00
Tour Overview
This is the same two-day Aegean route at a lower price, in a group capped at 12 guests. The guide is the same licensed guide, both flights are included and the sites are identical — what changes is the vehicle, which is shared, the schedule, which is fixed, and the meals, which you buy yourself.
It suits solo travellers, couples on a budget and anyone happy to follow a well-built itinerary rather than design one. Twelve is small enough that the guide learns everyone's names and no one waits long at a site entrance, which is why it is not a coach tour.

When To Travel
April to June and September to October are the best months: 18–27°C, dry marble at Ephesus and comfortable walking across the Pamukkale terraces. July and August reach 35–38°C in the Denizli valley, and the group schedule already starts early and keeps the midday hours indoors at Hierapolis. Winter is quiet and cool at 8–15°C; departures run less frequently between December and February, but the sites are at their emptiest and the price is at its lowest.
Frequently Asked Questions
How big is the group?
A maximum of 12 guests, travelling in a minibus with a driver and a licensed guide. It is not a coach tour, and the guide is the same person for both days.
What is the difference between this and the private tour?
The vehicle is shared rather than private, the route follows a fixed schedule, and lunches are not included. Everything else — flights, guide, entrance fees, the sites themselves — is the same. It costs less because the vehicle is split across the group.
Why are lunches not included?
Group lunches are where quality drops fastest on a tour. Guests buy their own at the restaurant we stop at, around 20 EUR per person, which keeps the price down and the food better.
Where do we stay overnight?
In Selçuk or Kuşadası, chosen for the drive time to Pamukkale the next morning. Accommodation is not included — we book it for you at cost and add it to your invoice.
Can I join as a solo traveller?
Yes, and it is one of the most common bookings on this tour. Solo guests are paired in twin rooms; a single supplement applies if you want a room to yourself. Tell us at booking.
